A message from the artist:
My sister and I visited Paradise Lodge at Mt. Rainier. We are lifetime hikers and we headed up the trails that lace the area above the Paradise Lodge. I kept stopping to take photos of a striking cloud bank that first appeared at the base of the Tatoosh mountain range. I didn't think much of it until the rangers started calling to us to get off the mountain. We were very reluctant to do this but they were predicting that the cloud bank was bringing extreme wind, rain, thunder and lightning. Convinced, we headed down and a good thing we did. That night thunder and lightning and driving rain kept me awake most of the night. The paintings here are from my photos and my memory.

  1. Fabulous watercolor of the Tatoosh range and the dramatic clouds rising up from within the valley! It's full of the wonder/fear/respect that the Cascade Mountain Range evokes. Very powerful painting, in my opinion. Susan Holland
