DANIEL SMITH Water Soluble Oils for Plein Air and Studio
with Steve Whitney
Sunday, Aug 19th, 2012
at 12 pm & 2 pm- FREE demos!

Steve Whitney (who wrote an article about our new Water Soluble Oils for our 2012-2013 Reference Catalog pages 5 to 7) will demonstrate procedures and techniques for working with DANIEL SMITH Water Soluble Oil Paint, including choosing brushes, using water and DANIEL SMITH Water Soluble Linseed Oil to control paint viscosity, color mixing, paint handling and brushwork, and clean-up.

Steve will also discuss the advantages of DANIEL SMITH Water Soluble Oil Paints for summertime plein-air painting and wintertime studio work, as well as clear up a lot of misunderstandings that artists have about water soluble oils.

Our New DANIEL SMITH Water Soluble Oils are the same formula as our DANIEL SMITH Original Oil Paints, so they are made with same quality ingredients, are highly pigmented, the only difference is that they are made with our special, Water Soluble Linseed Oil instead of our regular Refined Linseed Oil. The colors are exactly the same, feel the same when painting, still have that lovely linseed oil fragrance, AND you can clean up with water instead of combustible and hazardous turpentine or mineral spirits!

  1. In addition to actually painting something, I'll try to give you a solid understanding of how Daniel Smith water soluble oils compare to traditional oils and why you just might want to give them a try. Hope to see you Sunday!
