DRAWING: Basics of Drawing from Life with Michael Lentz
Saturday, November 12th, 2011  - FREE Demo!
from 11 am to 1 pm - Special time!

"This FREE demo (or mini workshop since you are invited to draw too!) will cover the basics of drawing from life. Still life, landscapes, figures, portraits, the principles are all the same.
The demo will focus on the very basics of learning to see and then learning to interpret and design in drawings. It will cover procedure, values, edges, simplification and design, and measuring.

The first half of the demo/workshop, I will demo the very basics and lay them out in a simple way.

In the second half of the demo/workshop we will set out some fruit and give the participants a chance to apply the new information. I will come around and help everyone for the remaining 45 minutes or so.

This demo/workshop is a great chance to begin with the fundamentals or to catch up if you've already got some working knowledge.

Please bring materials to draw with and a piece of your favorite fruit. Daniel Smith will also have supplies on hand available for purchase."

Materials Michael suggests to bring if you would like to draw during the second hour:

One 18''x24'' Smooth Newsprint Pad
Generals Charcoal Pencils (6B)
A standard razor blade
A sanding pad
Staedler lead holder
2B lead
lead sharpener
kneaded eraser
